Privacy Policy

The short version

Our site has one form. It asks for your name, your phone number, which class you want, and a message if you have one. We use that to answer you and to set up your first class. We do not sell it. We only text you if you check the box that says we can, and you can stop the texts at any time by replying STOP.

1. What we collect

We collect only what you send us and a small amount of technical data that every website receives.

What you give us in the form:

• Your name.
• Your phone number.
• The class you are asking about.
• Whether you want to book a class or ask a question.
• Your message, if you write one.
• Whether you checked the box to get text messages.

What the site receives on its own:

• Basic technical data, such as your IP address, your browser type, and the date and time of your visit. Our web host records this to keep the site running and safe.

We do not ask for payment details on this site. You cannot create an account here. We do not ask for your exact location.

2. How we collect it

Directly from you. You type it into the form, or you tell us when you call (417) 847-1415 or visit the school.

Automatically. Our web host receives basic technical data when your browser loads a page.

From others. We do not buy information about you. We do not get lists of leads from anyone.

3. How we use it

We use what you send us to:

• Answer your question.
• Book your first class and tell you what to expect.
• Follow up with you about your request by phone, by text if you agreed to texts, or by email if you gave us an email address.
• Keep the site safe and stop spam.
• Meet our legal duties.

We do not use what you send us for anything that would surprise you.

4. Who helps us handle it

Two kinds of companies handle your information for us. They may only use it to do that work.

Cloudflare hosts this website. When you send the form, it passes through Cloudflare on its way to us. Cloudflare's privacy policy is at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

Our customer relationship software provider stores your form details and helps us call, text and email you. Our web agency runs that software for us.

We do not give your information to anyone else unless the law requires it, or you ask us to.

5. Cookies and tracking

This site does not run an analytics tool. It does not run advertising pixels. It does not use cookies to follow you from site to site.

Our web host may set a cookie that is needed to keep the site safe and working. That kind of cookie is not used for ads.

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because we do not track you across sites, the site works the same way whether or not your browser sends it.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy, or as long as the law tells us to. You can ask us to delete it at any time. See section 8.

7. How we protect it

We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe, and we limit who can see it. No website or system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that nothing will ever go wrong. If you think your information has been misused, call us at (417) 847-1415.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

• Show you what we have about you.
• Fix something that is wrong.
• Delete what we have about you.
• Give you a copy you can take with you.
• Stop calling, texting or emailing you about anything other than a request you made.

To stop text messages, reply STOP to any text from us. To stop emails, use the unsubscribe link in the email or tell us.

To make any other request, call (417) 847-1415 or write to us at the address in section 13. We may ask a question or two to make sure the request is really from you. We will not treat you differently for asking.

9. Text messages (SMS terms)

Who sends the texts. Modern Martial Arts Academy.

How you sign up. You check the text message box on our form. The box starts empty. You do not have to check it to book a class or ask a question.

What we text about. Answers to your question, booking and reminders for your class, and follow-up about your request.

How often. Message frequency varies.

What number they come from.

Cost. Msg & data rates may apply.

How to stop. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. We will send one message to confirm, and then no more.

How to get help. Reply HELP for help, or call (417) 847-1415.

Your choice. Consent to receive text messages is not required to book a class or to make a purchase.

Your mobile information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text message opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, except the service providers who help us send the messages.

Carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

10. Children's privacy

We teach children, but this website is written for parents and other adults. It is not directed to children under 13. The form is meant to be filled in by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information from a child under 13 through this site.

A parent may tell us a child's name or age in the message so we can pick the right class. We use that only to answer and to set up the class.

If you think a child has sent us information through the site, call (417) 847-1415 and we will delete it.

11. California residents

California residents may have additional privacy rights under California law. Contact us using the details in section 13 to use them. We do not sell your personal information.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. If the change is a big one, we will say so on the site. You can ask us for an earlier version. Our [Terms of Service](/terms/) are on their own page.
